Well, it has been over a year since we arrived in Bangkok, and a year to the day that we left quarantine and stepped foot in Bangkok proper. And so this seems like a good time to close out this blog. The year has been something, though. I haven’t liked everything about living in Bangkok—the pollution, the traffic, the cockroaches in our kitchen. I've felt discomfort facing my own privilege, especially as one of the native English speaking teachers at my work. But there are so many things I adore—the totally different vibes of the neighborhoods in this city, the food, the fruit, the massages, the affordability of most everything, and the friendly and polite and helpful ways people in Bangkok generally behave. Although I don’t love a Monday to Friday regular work week, I also for the most part like my job. By that, I mostly mean I love the kids.
