I'm not going to do a real journaly journal for today, because we spent most of the morning trying, unsuccessfully, to get Roman's laptop battery fixed at the Apple store, and then wandering the numbingly large and fancy nearby mall, Central World.

We stepped outside the mall to find that a torrential downpour had started when we were inside its hushed and air-conditioned walls. We walked across the elevated platform to the BTS station. It was the perfect place to be during a rainstorm—the platform has a covered ceiling but open sides, so we could walk toward the station and stay dry while the rain came down in sheets on either side of us, and the wind occasionally sent a fine mist of water over our ankles.

Meals! For breakfast, I made oatmeal with apple, dried guava, and dried coconut. I make it most mornings and if I had cuter bowls I might photograph it, but probably not because it's still just oatmeal. At the mall, we shared a bowl of beef wonton soup with bok choy that was very slowly and very carefully prepared for us--and very delicious, and two pork bao buns.

For dinner, we went to a street cart in the neighborhood, where we each got a grilled chicken leg, and shared a papaya salad.

We also wandered around Sathorn. We were avoiding going home since they are doing construction work on the house next door and are using some kind of chemicals that are making us both feel lousy (and...that may be why I'm not feeling inclined to write much more).
